A Somerset wedding

Wedding news from Somerset.

WEDNESDAY, 29 AUGUST, 2012

On Saturday, 25th August, months of planning came to fruition, with the wedding of my friends, Catherine & Adam Turner. Their wedding was held at the glorious Gants Millin Bruton, Somerset – a beautiful venue on a family farm in the countryside.

Waiting with bated breath for the bride.

Waiting with bated breath for the bride.

We created the dessert menu, which comprised three flavours of brownies, a chilled Indian rice pudding, Lemon Polenta Cake wedges topped with some succulent strawberries, and our own original concept, exclusive to the wedding: Thai Rolls in rice-paper wrappers, with a filling of coconut sticky rice, toasted sesame seeds, and a fresh mango-passion fruit custard. All our dessert options were gluten-free, so that the bride could dive right in and have whatever she wanted and really indulge herself.

The wedding guests loved the choices on offer, a fact made all the sweeter because the happy couple are friends of mine. All in all, a really fantastic day!

A MASSIVE thanks to Mamapie for our wonderful desserts. We really wanted everything to be individual for the day and these wonderful creations were loved by everyone. My personal favourite was the chilled indian rice pudding. Thoroughly recommended! Thanks Liz xx
